Painterly arts: Henry Fuseli (1741-1825), Swiss painter: The shepherd's dream

Troubled cosmos, but in a dream (to use Calvin Seerveld's theory of formats for paintings arts; the sleeping human adds almost a touch of realism in contrast to the "supernatural", another contrastive note of realism may be found in the lady in the lower trier in the background. But then the angels of the dream take over the narrative of this work of fine art. Very much inspired by Rembrandt in the chiarscuro light and shadow effects.
