Sports: National teams: Great Britain (UK)

541 members of the national athletic team that will represent United Kingdom of Great Britain at the oncoming London Olympics 2012.  I remember growing up, the debates whether Olympians represented their countries or races, or whether they represented only individual or team excellence in sports.  The ancient Greeks also gave an Olympic prize to the winner of the poetry contest, where the poetry was orally delivered, not a mere book title.
