A family of young raccoons perches on a garage in Toronto in 2009. The Canadian city has become known as the raccoon capital of the world, much to the chagrin of its human residents. One man was arrested for allegedly hitting a baby raccoon with a shovel.  [Another for attempting to drown a nuissance raccoon still in its cage, by dropping the closed cage into Lake Ontario, only to be videod while doing so.]   Zuma Press/Newscom/File
