Scotty’s Single Gives Idol 300th No. 1
He’s only been the American Idol for a week, but Scotty McCreery has his first #1 single on the Billboard charts. Scotty’s Idol anthem and debut single, “I Love You This Big,” reached #1 in its first week on the Country Digital Songs chart. This became the 300th #1 song on the Billboard charts by an Idol alumnus.
In addition, Season 10’s top female, Lauren Alaina, had success on the Billboard charts this week with her debut single, “Like My Mother Does.”
Just counting the Idol finalists, 54 have landed on the Billboard charts, but the number increases to 58 when you add non-finalists William Hung, Josiah Leming, Frenchie Davis, and Chris Medina.
